Leeds Leisure Services once again ran the British Speed Championships, having obtained sponsorship from National Westminster Bank. The prize fund doubled to over £10,000 and the total number of players was 551! A mammoth organisational challenge for Leeds Leisure Services and Gerry Walsh's team.
